PENARTH RVS members met at the Paget Rooms on Tuesday, March 10, for their afternoon meeting.

The opening hymn was sung to welcome the members. Cynthia reported that Beryl is still in hospital and Albert went back as he has pneumonia. All members wish them a speedy recovery.

Birthday greetings were to Mrs Lewis and to Eirlys on her 90th birthday. Mrs Reid’s daughter sent a thank you card for all the good wishes received by her mother.

They were entertained by Amy Britton and her singers. They were a breath of fresh air and the ladies of the choir sang solos and read poems.

A vote of thanks was given for the pleasant and entertaining afternoon. The departing hymn was sung an tea and biscuits were served, the raffle was drawn which brought the meeting to a close.

Their next meeting on March 17 began with the opening hymn and Celia gave the report on members who are sick, namely Sheila Powell who fell, Albert Mostyn, Beryl Elms who are in hospital and Enid Longman, Dillys Wood and Pat Brooks who are not well.

Members hope that they will see them soon at their next meeting.

Birthday greetings were sung to Olive Weatherall. Their entertainment was given by Derek who plays the harmonica.

Derek as always chats and plays many favourite tunes. They will have had their Easter Bonnet Parade on Tuesday 24.

Tickets are now available for their visit to a garden centre and lunch in Brecon on April 28. Tickets are £12 for members and £14 for visitors.

The departing hymn was sung, refreshments taken and the raffle drawn bringing the meeting to a close.
