WITH great sadness, president Margaret Williams and other members of the Penarth Inner Wheel Club went to the funeral of Mrs Sheila Fyfe. Sheila had been president of the club four times and treasurer for many years, she was a lovely, elegant lady who will be sadly missed.
President Margaret was invited and attended the Rotary Big Breakfast and also to Mrs Annie Shulp's coffee morning, where Mrs Sylvia Ashton's special birthday was celebrated with a chocolate cake.
The objectives of Inner Wheel are to promote true friendship, to encourage the ideals of personal service and to foster international understanding. With those objectives in mind the club decided to donate £100 to WaterAid, £50 to Book Aid, £100 to the Society for Blind Children and £50 to Rotary International's Polio Eradication Fund.
Later on in the month the club is having a theatre trip organised by Mrs Ruby Osborne, to see the Sound of Music.
