THE PAGET Rooms in Penarth is set to host a 'Not so Royal Variety Show' in aid of charity.

A wide range of local entertainers will take to the stage in a bid to raise money for MIND and the Alzheimer's Society.

The fundraising night, which will be held on Thursday (April 2), has been organised by Lady Gage tribute act and impersonator Donna Marie.

Speaking ahead of the show she said: "I get asked to perform my Lady Gaga tribute show at a lot of charity events throughout the year but I am usually already booked so I’m unable to help.

"I used to arrange a lot of charity events 10 years ago and thought that if I organized my own charity evening it would be possible to give something back.

"With help from my sister Alisha and husband Nigel, we have been working really hard to make this night a huge success.

"I am very lucky to have some amazing friends who are performers, I didn’t even need to contact them to take part in the evening, as soon as they heard I was organising this event they contacted me and asked me if they could be involved in the event."

The star-studded night will also feature Aubrey Parsons, Leighton Jones, Pixie Perez, Rickie Arthur & Buble Fever, Hrh Billie Raymond, Rachel Roberts - Shirley Bassey tribute, NuWorx Dance, Dave Bowen, MUNDO DANCE - Yonier Garcia, Rod Stevens - Hypnotist, Emily Langford and Rebekah West

Helen Enser Morgan will be the compere for the evening, while there will also be a photo opportunity with 'The Queen’ and a prize draw.

proceeds from the night will go towards two charities.

Donna added: "Some people ask me why I have chosen Alzheimers and Mind. Well my grandfather had Alzheimers for more than 10 years, and it was such a sad time watching him go from the amazing, strong, kind gentleman that he was to the frail shell of a man that he became. He was a rock to me in every way, he was like a father teaching me to play football, ride a bike, drive me to and from school, etc, he was always there for us. He came along to every gig and performance I did until he got too ill to attend.

Mind is also very close to my heart as I have many family and friends who suffer with depression and mental health. I have also suffered depression myself and lost a friend to this horrible illness.

I am really looking forward to this amazing evening of entertainment, I’m probably going to be so rushed off my feet I won’t get a chance to see any of the show but I can promise it is going to be a show people won’t forget in a hurry."
