NEST, the Welsh Government’s fuel poverty scheme, has exceeded its five year target in just four years helping thousands of households to keep warm and reduce their energy bills.

Nest was launched in 2011 to provide free advice and support to households in Wales. It has given energy efficiency advice to 61,000 households to help people keep warm and reduce bills.

The scheme has also seen 17,000 of the hardest to heat homes benefiting from free home improvements like new boilers or insulation, beating its five-year target of 15,000 in just four years.

Nest is open to all householders across Wales and provides advice on saving energy, energy tariffs, benefit entitlement and home improvements to help reduce energy bills.

If you own or privately rent a home that is hard to heat and someone in your household receives a means tested benefit, you may be eligible for free home improvements.
