BRITISH Gas is offering youngsters across Wales a chance to win an energy makeover worth up to £100,000 for their school.

Children have to submit their designs for an energy-saving school of the future and the four schools (two primary schools and two secondary schools) with the most innovative designs will be shortlisted then selected to compete in a dance-off final event in July.

The finalists will perform an energy-inspired dance for the opportunity to win solar panels, new boilers and other energy saving technology for their school.

A panel of local judges will decide the primary and secondary school with the best performances.

The winning secondary school will receive an energy makeover worth up to £100,000 and the winning primary school will receive a makeover worth up to £50,000. The two runners up will each win an energy saving prize worth up to £25,000.

The competition is part of British Gas’ Generation Green schools programme, which inspires thousands of children and teachers to think about energy and to reduce energy use within schools and the wider community.

Schools can enter at generationgreen.co.uk and downloading the competition form, lesson plans and learning resources. Entries must be in by May 18.
