THE Penarth to Cardiff bus service via the Bay has returned for a third year this summer after "overwhelming" demand.

The special 91 route will run every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from May 27 until September 27.

Leaving from Penarth Pier, it will operate hourly and stop at Windsor Terrace, Cogan Leisure, Mermaid Quay in the Bay and finally Wood Street.

The service will provide customers with the opportunity to experience attractions such as the urban beach which is returning to Roald Dahl Plass from July 27 to September 6.

Gareth Stevens, business development manager at Cardiff Bus said: “Our summer special service is back due to popular demand.

"With the direct service running over four months, residents from Penarth can enjoy the host of events on offer at Cardiff Bay this summer.

"Families looking to visit the city can take advantage of our ‘Families for a Fiver’ promotion, where two adults and up to three children or young people eighteen years of age or under can travel all day for five pounds.”
