BEN Popham and Betsan Jones, both of Penarth, have been elected as Head Boy and Head Girl at Ysgol Gyfun Bro Morgannwg.
After a week of canvassing and hustings the pair were selected for the 2015/16 Academic year.
Their deputies will be Keelan Jones and Rhiannon Berry; all four are past pupils of Ysgol Pen y Garth in Penarth.
All members of staff and sixth form pupils were eligible to vote and they fought off tough competition to be elected.
In an interview with James Evans, head of Sixth Form, Ben and Betsan expressed how proud they were to have been elected and looked back at the experiences and opportunities they had received during their early years at the school.
Although a relatively small sixth form this has its advantages with everyone knowing each other within the close knit community.
Both agreed that one of the highlights of the past year was the sixth form working together organising school events to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Ben and Betsan are active within the school community with both of them members of the school orchestra and looking forward to a future career in Medicine.
The school wishes to congratulate all of them and wish them well in their new posts.
