POLICE are seeking witnesses to an unprovoked attack in Penarth which left a man needing hospital treatment.

The incident, in which a 22-year-old man was assaulted, happened on Anchor Road, Penarth at around 8.54pm on Saturday, June 27.

The victim was walking down Harbour Road onto Anchor Road with two male friends when a white car, possibly a BMW, parked up nearby.

Three men got out of the white car and walked towards the victim and his friends. One of the men from the car punched the victim to the face in what appears to be an unprovoked attack.

The victim fell to the ground, striking his head on the ground. He sustained injuries to his face and needed hospital treatment.

The three men from the car then walked off towards the Oystercatcher and Tesco.

The suspect is described as being white, aged between 20 to 25 years, around 6ft with a large muscular build with short brown hair. He was believed to have been wearing jeans, a brown shirt and leather shoes.
