THE Vale of Glamorgan Council has announced that members of the public will now be able to register to speak at meetings of the Council’s Public Rights of Way Sub-Committee.

The move follows the introduction of public speaking at meetings of the authority’s planning committee earlier this year which has proved to be popular.

Public Rights of Way give a right of access over land, primarily for walkers. There are over 300 miles of such routes in the Vale and it is the role of the Public Rights of Way Sub-Committee to consider changes to the network.

Individual speakers will be allowed up to three minutes to speak with a maximum of six minutes for groups of two or more speakers. The next meeting of the Public Rights of Way Sub-Committee is scheduled to be held on Thursday, September 10 at 10am.

A registration form will be available on the Council’s website for five working days prior to each meeting. Residents who wish to speak will need to register at least two working days before a meeting in order to speak.
