THE Oxfam shop in Penarth has announced its second record promotion will start on Wednesday, October 7 at 10am.

This year's promotion differs from the first one as it will include collectable classical vinyl.

On sale will be over 160 collectible rock, pop, folk and jazz LPs ranging from Muddy Waters to Tony Bennett. All the records have been carefully graded and priced from £4.99 upwards. There are also over 50 classical LPs plus box sets.

A second addition this year is that there are well over 100 singles available for collectors to buy starting from 99p.

Jayne Luxton the shop manager said, "After the success of last year's promotion when we raised over £1000 I am looking forward to this year's promotion especially as we have added classical music and singles. We have built up a good customer base of vinyl collectors over the last two years so I am sure they will value the chance to purchase the records at realistic prices. We are always so grateful for all the records that are donated to the shop by our supporters and we are determined to raise as much money as possible from their donations. We look forward to seeing customers old and new at the record promotion."

Anyone who has vinyl records of any kind that they would like to donate to Oxfam can drop their donations off at the shop in Windsor Street, Penarth. They also welcome donations of CDs, music books and sheet music. Large collections can be picked up by arrangement by telephoning 02920 706358.
