A SUCCESSFUL coffee morning raised £400 in support of local mental health charity, Mind in the Vale.

The event was held at Trinity methodist church on Saturday, September 12 and has been hailed as a triumph.

Organisers Ceri Lou Rosemary Newman said: "We had a great turn out. We were kept busy all morning with a steady stream of visitors. I was delighted to meet the brother and sister of the late Helen Ford who I had no idea were coming but they seemed really pleased to see how much Helen is still in the thoughts and hearts of the people of Penarth.

Ceri-Lou would like to thank the following businesses and people for donating raffle prizes: Hi-plan copy print, Spar, The Mayfair, Tesco in Penarth Marina, The Pheasantry, Umpa Lumpa, Dave the Barber, Griffin Books, Richardson's health shop, Yarn and Yarn's, Councillor Martin Turner, Windsor Fruit stores and all the many personal donations that were received from generous people all over Penarth.

Ceri-Lou commented: "A big thanks to everyone who made and donated goods to sell and helped on the day in any way to make it such a successful coffee morning.

We were shattered by the end of it but it was well worth it to raise a decent amount and have the Church buzzing with people enjoying each others company and coming together for such a worthy cause."
