THE little former Church of St Lawrence at Lavernock was bursting with a wide range of traditional harvest produce on Sunday, September 27 on the occasion of the annual harvest thanksgiving service.
Hymns were sung enthusiastically to Anne Thomas’ fine accompaniment on the French Harmonium, and the Revd Margaret Stark spoke of the harvest of skills and talents that can be gathered from all of us for use in the service of God and our neighbour.
At the end of the service the produce was offered to members of the congregation who donated generously towards the upkeep of the former church.
The St Lawrence at Lavernock Trust would like to express their gratitude to the shops, farms and individuals who gave or loaned harvest items so willingly and to the Working Party who worked so hard and skilfully to create such a magnificent display.
