THIS summer Elfed Avenue United Church had lots of fun by hosting a senior's holiday club and a children's holiday club. Both clubs went exceptionally well, and everyone who attended had a marvellous time.

At the beginning of August they ran the senior’s holiday club which consisted of morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, with a range of activities in between. They went on a day trip to Porthcawl, where everyone enjoyed lunch at a lovely restaurant.

A variety of activities were held throughout the week, such as games and quizzes, a film afternoon, an art session, a gentle movement session, bingo, and entertainment from some of the young girls who attend the youth club which is run at the church every Thursday evening.

It was a really enjoyable week for meeting new people, spending time with one another, and all whilst doing fun activities. It is always lovely to meet different people from the community.

At the end of August the church ran a children's holiday club over four days for youngsters between the ages of five and 11.

The children’s holiday club was a brilliant, interactive, entertaining and energetic week. They learnt about different Bible stories each day and how that applies to our lives today.

The week was full with activities such as games, arts and crafts, lively songs, entertaining DVD clips, races, sports and all things loud and fun which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

All the young people interacted enthusiastically each day and everyone had a really good week. It was great for the organisers to meet so many lovely children.
