PUPILS at a Penarth school have launched their own newspaper.
Westbourne School year five pupils launched the junior school paper last week.
It is an extension of one of the after school clubs on offer at Westbourne called Young Journalists where students meet to compare and critique articles they have written themselves.
Sahishnu Pawan-Kumar and Musa Saqib are heading up the project as editor and chief reporter respectively.
They are now looking for stories from all children in the junior school, as well suggestions to name the new publication.
They took some inspiration from the recent Shakespeare Week, which culminated in a live workshop where pupils not only dressed up as their favourite character but also acted out famous scenes.
When asked about the newspaper, Sahishnu said: "I have loved reading since I was four, but recently I have found it more frustrating when looking for books with an appropriate theme for my age but also at the level that I love to read so a few of us decided to write our own work instead."
