TWO local fitness instructors have brought the latest fitness craze to Penarth.

Sam Escofet and Amy Rasbuary have developed a programme of fitness classes to suit all ages, from four upwards, and all abilities.

Their latest class, Insanity Live, offers total-body interval training to build fitness levels and different levels of intensity to suit each individual.

Ms Escofet, who set up Escofit in 2011, teamed up with Mrs Rasbuary in 2014.

Escofit’s classes run at Penarth’s Sea Cadets Hall on Tuesdays from 1.15pm– 1.55pm, on Wednesdays at St Augustine’s Parish Hall from 9.30am – 10.25am (except for the second Wednesday of each month) and on Thursdays from 7.15pm – 8.10pm at Evenlode Primary School.

Ms Escofet said: “Insanity Live gives everyone the chance to push themselves that little bit harder.

"We give a range of options in class so it’s up to the individual how much they want to challenge themselves.

"Each class is a combination of endurance and plyometrics; strength and balance; agility and coordination – with regular periods of rest."

Ms Rasbuary said that many people will have heard of Insanity Live or seen video clips online.

She urged everyone to give it a go, saying there's a "great sense of camaraderie" among the groups.

Claire Pedrick has been going to Escofit classes since 2012.

She said: "Before going to my first Insanity class with Sam and Amy, I had visions of them shouting at me to work harder.

"But the reality is very different. They give different options for each move, so you can have a low or high intensity workout; the choice is yours.

"I’ve made some great friends and the sense of achievement you get at the end of a class is unbeatable."
