The annual fete organised by the Friends of Sully Hospital will be held on Saturday, June 25. The fete, which has become increasingly popular over the years, raises funds for the provision of amenities for relatives undergoing treatment at the hospital, and for facilities for the nursing staff.

The 1966 New Times Guide to Penarth is now on sale. With an attractive cover in four colours and liberally illustrated with photographs, its 52 pages provide a complete guide to the holiday attractions of Penarth and for the many areas for which Penarth serves as a centre.

New attractions announced for Penarth Holiday Week (August 13-21) were an Electronic Shooting Gallery, organised by the St Cyres Electronic Society, with prizes for the best scores of the week, and a Road Safety contest for the best driver of the week.

The 1148 (Penarth) Squadron ATC will soon be welcoming a new officer to the staff at Dingle Road Headquarters.

The Union of Congregational Women in Cardiff and District held a Spring Fair at Christ Church last Saturday, and the joint beneficiaries, the London Missionary Society and the Home Churches Fund, will benefit considerably.

Penarth Urban District Council has welcomed a proposal by the minister of Trinity Church, that during August Sunday evenings, his church will welcome all denominations, visitors and residents of the town, for the purpose of enjoying music.

Old Penarthians 17th Annual Sevens' Tournament took place at Cwrt-y-Vil last Saturday when the teams and a large crowd revelled in perfect weather conditions.

After a fine start to the Carruthers Shield competition on May 7 with away wins, both Penarth and Sully clubs suffered unexpected reverses on their own greens last Saturday to dampen their respective hopes of success in their sections.

Penarth has six representatives among more than 20,000 young tennis players from all parts of the British Isles who will soon be playing their first matches in the world's biggest tennis tournament, organised by the Nestle Sports Foundation.
