A PEFORMANCE featuring young starts of stage and screen will be held in Penarth next month.

Shelley Norton Stage School is the brainchild of a Penarth woman who recently embarked on her own venture based at the Talent Shack on Penarth Road.

Ms Norton spent five years directing casting agency The Big Talent, but is now working on putting together a performance of The Little Mermaid at the Paget Rooms from June 3-5.

Ms Norton said: "It’s a beautiful production with memorable songs that everyone will love no matter how old or young you are."

On the Sunday, there will be a special performance at noon by the mini musical theatre class aged 3-6.

Look out for the Mermaid window displays at Alley Cat Boutique on Plassey Street who will also sell tickets for the show. Tickets are £10 or £8 concessions.

Shelley Norton Stage School and Management has been busy with clients in several well-known BBC series due to be broadcast later in the year.

Ms Norton said: "Children and teenagers in my agency have had some amazing experiences over the last couple of months, with a lot more to come.

"I can’t mention any names of programmes yet but they are very exciting."

Louisa Palmer, agent at Shelley Norton Management, added: "A number of our members are waiting to hear if they have landed parts in School of Rock in the West End and will be appearing in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at Wales Millennium Centre in the summer."

Rehearsals are also underway for the Penarth Summer Festival when they will be showcasing the work done across all classes including singing, dancing and drama.
