SHAKESPEARE in Flowers’ was the theme of the flower festival held at the old former church of St Lawrence at Lavernock last weekend.
Five of his plays were illustrated with flowers and artefacts (achieved by the church’s working party, to whom many thanks).
They are also grateful to Jane of Washington Pharmacy for lending some of her precious collection of old medicine bottles, and to Julian of The Florist for his two fine arrangements of flowers, as well as a number of other friends who kindly lent suitable items.
Finally, they were delighted with the number of visitors who braved the rain on the first day, as well as those friends who arrived with the sunshine on Sunday; many thanks also to them for their generous donations towards the continuation of events at this former church.
