AN INSPIRING and eclectic group of eight garden in Dinas Powys, plus the church, will be open on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3 as part of the National Gardens Scheme.

Attractions include a garden based on permaculture principles, using perennials, shrubs and edibles together.

There are ponds of all sizes and styles, planting in shade and sun, boggy areas, pergolas, child friendly attractions, a caravan and summerhouse, mature shrubs and trees, vegetables and fruit, challenging terraced designs and wild areas.

Plus they have community gardens opening for the first time.

Lovely home-made teas will be served and there are many restful and beautiful areas to sit and relax.

Plants sales are also an attraction, and the local church is open, providing lawn games and an exhibition of local art.

The gardens opening will be 1 Ashgrove, Brookleigh, The Huntsman Restaurant (only open on Sunday), 30 Millbrook Road, 32 Millbrook Road, Nightingale Community Gardens, The Pound and West Cliff.

This group also makes a donation to Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern.

All the gardens will open from 11am until 6pm and there is a combined admission of £5 for adults and children are free.
