A YOUNG girl from Penarth has raised £130 from a hair cut in aid of two different charities.
Jasmyn Davies, 9, who attends Victoria Primary School has had 13 inches of hair shaved off and has donated her locks to the Little Princess Trust.
The charity makes wigs from hair that is donated for children who are undergoing chemotherapy.
The idea came about because Jasmyn had a friend who had had her hair cut for the charity.
She told her mother, Tracy, one morning that she wanted to do the same to which Mrs Davies suggested she raise some money to show what she had done.
Jasmyn decided that she would raise the funds for Cancer Research UK as well as the hair to the Little Princess Trust.
She raised the £130 in just two days
The team at Allen Sadler on Hickman Road carried out the big cut.
Mrs Davies said: "She said it is something she needs to do.
"I am very proud of my daughter. To have the initiative and generosity to think of and do something like this is incredible.
"Her whole family have commented on how proud they are. We are all beaming."
