RESCUE teams were called out to find a missing person in Penarth this morning (October 25).
Lifeboat crews from Penarth were paged just before 7.45am to assist coastguards with the search after reports of a missing person.
The D class lifeboat launched and commenced the search from the RNLI station to Cardiff Bay barrage.
A casualty was located near the base of the Penarth Head cliffs and a joint rescue undertaken by coastguards and the RNLI crew.
The casualty was taken by lifeboat back to the lifeboat station and then transferred to a waiting ambulance.
A spokesman for the RNLI said: "This was an excellent shout with a good outcome.
"Several weeks ago the RNLI crews exercised using the exact same scenario as occurred today."
