A PIZZA shop in Penarth has been decorated with poppies in tribute to those who have served in the armed forces.

Ahead of next month's remembrance commemorations, Pizza Pronto on Stanwell Road has once again covered its kiosk with poppies as it bids to raise more money for the Royal British Legion (RBL) as part of their poppy appeal.

Kevin Halborg from Pizza Pronto is a former commando who served in Afghanistan and is encouraging members of the public to contribute.

He said: "As a soldier your duty never fully ends.

"You may leave the military but it never leaves you.

"I will never forget our fallen friends any day of the year but it's nice to display it from time to time.

"That's why it's important to me."

Last year, £25,000 was raised from the shop and other activities in the area for the local RBL branch's appeal.
