A TICKETING company from Penarth has been named as one of the fastest growing business in Wales.

Ticketsource, a box office software provider based on Stanwell Road, was ranked 20th on the Fast Growth 50 list for 2016.

The event sponsored by Barclays saw the company examined over a three year period.

They achieved an increase in revenue of 180.6% from 2013 to 2015.

Ticketsource was founded in 2004 in Penarth, where their offices are still based.

The firm has attributed this success to the quality of their software and the range of additional support services they offer.

This has meant that venues and event organisers can now choose whether to add the free box office app to their website and social media or to completely outsource their ticketing operations and have Ticketsource handle everything including telephone bookings.

Customers can book online from any device, and opt to receive e-tickets, mobile tickets or traditional printed tickets by post.

Founder and CEO Simon Wilsher said that the company is "really proud"of their achievement.

He added: "Ticketsource is currently used by over 16,000 event organisers and venues worldwide ranging from schools, colleges and amateur groups, to large professional theatres, concert halls, sports venues and outdoor festivals.

"In responding to their feedback and meeting very diverse needs over the past 12 years, we have ended up with one of the most versatile ticketing systems anywhere in the world, hence our increase in international clients.

"However the UK is still our primary focus and business here is growing faster than ever, mostly as a result of word of mouth, and in some very unusual sectors. "For example, we seem to have become the system of choice for many of the UK's larger seasonal event organisers with Halloween events, firework displays, Christmas concerts, Santa's Grottos and Winter Wonderland skating rinks popping up all over the country."

He said that they are proud to be a Penarth business and hope to maintain the pace of technical development over the coming years and stay in the town.

They are now beginning their expansion in European and American markets.
