VALE Voices will be starting their rehearsals for 2017 on Monday, January 30.

The choir is a mixed, pop-up choir which has been running in Barry for the past six years. They aim to introduce new voices to choral singing in an environment where experienced singers can also feel at home.

The 30-strong choir has members aged from 12-years-old to 80 and meets for 12 weeks each year.

As in previous year's, the choir will end their season with a concert and this year it will be held on Friday, April 28 in St Peter's Church, Dinas Powys.

Vale Voices will be joined by St Andrews Primary School choirs to raise money for Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern.

This year will also be an exciting one for the choir as they will head out on their first tour and will perform at Gloucester Cathedral on Saturday, May 6.

Rehearsals, starting at the end of the month, are held in Trinity Church upper hall, Barry, every Monday from 6pm to 7pm.
