A SCHOOLBOY who was believed to have fallen off a cliff has died from his injuries

Miller Coyle, 15, a pupil at Stanwell School, is believed to have fallen from the cliff at Lavernock Point in Sully on Sunday (February 26).

He died from his injuries on Sunday (March 5) evening at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff

His next of kin have been informed and a file is being prepared for the coroner. 

An official statement from the school said: "It is with immense sorrow that we learned of Miller's tragic death.

"Miller will be greatly missed by pupils and staff and our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with his family at this sad time."

Penarth Coastguard were called out just after 11pm that day and were later joined by police.

A crew from Penarth Lifeboat Station was called out at around 11.40pm to assist.

He was then carried across the beach to awaiting lifeboats and taken to the Penarth lifeboat slipway where he was transferred to an ambulance and taken to hospital where he later died.

A spokesman for Penarth RNLI said: "The thoughts of everyone at Penarth RNLI are with his friends and family at this difficult time."
