VOLUNTEERS will hold their second Big Clean Up event along Penarth's popular Railway Path on March 25.

The Railway Path Project Penarth, assisted by Penarth Tourism and Visitor Association, will start cleaning at 11am until 1pm.

Their previous event, held in November 2016, was a huge success and saw the removal of five truckloads of green waste and other waste.

The group hopes to encourage volunteers to join them on the day to clean up this popular walkway which stretches from the top of Plymouth Road as far as Cosmeston Drive.

They will be tackling the banks of the path, removing branches, concrete and anything else which detracts from the area. The Vale of Glamorgan Council's parks department will be there providing all the necessary equipment.

The council has been very supportive of the event, and the group have pledged to work with them to help keep the path in as good an order as reasonably practical.

Volunteers, should meet at 11am at the Sully Terrace/Archer Road junction of the walkway.

For further information volunteers and interested parties can join the group on Facebook – Railway Path Project Penarth.

Up-to-date information will be available from the Facebook page.
