A PENARTH based company has helped create 10 new jobs by agreeing a deal with a commercial cleaning company.

Dyffryn-based Abbey Cleaning Service has secured the biggest deal in its 30 year history with one of Wales' largest skills and employment providers, Itec.

The six figure contract to support the training company’s seven offices across south Wales is set to increase Abbey’s turnover by 20 per cent.

Director of Abbey Cleaning, Adrian Harvie, said he was delighted to be working with another Welsh company to create more opportunities for local workers.

Mr Harvie said: "This new contract is the result of a lot of hard work from the management team and our staff.

"There is a strong family environment at Abbey, and I am thrilled to be welcoming 10 new additions to the team."

Jonathan Gray, business support manager for the Penarth Road based firm, said he was impressed by Abbey Cleaning’s dedication to detail and enthusiasm for creating local job opportunities. “Supporting Welsh businesses and employees is one of our guiding principles here at Itec, so working with someone as passionate as Adrian, as well as helping create more local jobs, ticks all the boxes," he said.

"The old adage, you only get one chance to make a first impression is true, and that starts with the working environment.

"The moment an employer or an individual walks into one of our offices we need them to feel safe in the knowledge that they are being supported by experienced professionals."
