A WOMAN was allegedly verbally abused and assaulted in the street.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Hickman Road, Penarth at approximately 10am on Monday, April 3rd
They say a young woman was verbally abused before being assaulted by an unknown man.
At least one member of the public came to the woman's assistance and police believe that this person may have information that could help with inquiries.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the identity of the man is asked to call 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 1700124539.
