THE FULL line-up for the third Picnic Penarth event has been revealed.

The two-day street food festival takes place in the town centre on Saturday April 28, and Sunday April 29.

Businesses who will be part of this year’s event include Meat and Greek, The Bearded Taco, Brother Thai, Pizza Pronto, Old Cogan Hall Farm, Restaurant James Sommerin, Purple Poppadom’s Tukka Tuk and Chapter Caffi.

The Vale of Glamorgan Brewery and The Bottle Shop are taking care of the bar, with sweets and puddings on offer from Dixie’s Vintage Ices, Umpa Lumpa Sweets and Dawn’s Pantry.

A spokeswoman for the Penarth Town Council, which managed the event, said: “We are proud to say that all of our vendors are from the South Wales area, which proves how much talent there is locally.

“Penarth has lots of great places to eat and is known as a foodie destination.

“On April 29 and 30, we don’t think there will be anywhere in the UK where it is better to eat.”

Old Cogan Hall Farm, which breeds lamb and pork near Cosmeston, said they make burgers named the Prince William specifically for Picnic Penarth.

A spokeswoman for the farm added: “We love serving local produce to the picnic crowd; the Prince Williams never fail to sell out and it’s the only place in the world where you can try one.”

Brother Thai, which was listed in BBC Olive Magazine’s Top 16 UK Street Food Stalls is run by Andrew Chongsathien.

He said: “Having seen Picnic Penarth grow over the last couple of years, we’re very excited to be welcomed back into the Penarth community.

“The people really make this event feel special to us and we look forward to cooking up some street food treats for everyone.”

Established in 2015 with funding from Vale of Glamorgan Council and Welsh Government, Picnic Penarth is delivered and managed by the town council and Vale of Glamorgan Council, and is this year sponsored by local company CoverBuilder Home Insurance.

Arriva Trains Wales have agreed to a road closure which will be in place from the junction of Station Approach and Victoria Road from 6pm on Friday April 28 and 9pm on Sunday April 30.
