INVESIGATIONS are underway after scaffolding collapsed into school grounds last week.
The scaffolding attached to a council owned building next door to Albert Primary School fell into the school grounds on the morning of Friday, May 5.
A council spokesman said that no pupils or staff were in the vicinity at the time of the incident and that the scaffolding has now been cleared.
He confirmed they are investigating the incident and that repairs will be carried out.
The spokesman for the Vale of Glamorgan Council said: "On Friday, May 5, scaffolding attached to a council owned property fell into the grounds of Albert Primary School.
"No pupils or staff were in the vicinity at the time.
"Representatives of the Health and Safety Executive visited the school on the same day, as is their standard procedure.
"The scaffolding was removed that afternoon and the council’s building maintenance and health and safety teams are now investigating the cause of the incident. "Any damage to the school will be repaired as quickly as possible."
A spokeswoman for the Health and Safety Executive said they are aware of the incident and are looking into it while working the the council.
