LIFEBOAT crew members were called out to rescue three people whose yacht was suffering engine problems
The team from Penarth RNLI were called out on Saturday, May 20 to the yacht in the waters off Penarth.
It was able to continue sailing in the direction of Penarth from Barry.
Once around Lavernock Point, the vessel was escorted by the Atlantic Class lifeboat through to Cardiff Bay barrage where it was met by coastguard officers from Penarth.
A spokesman for Penarth RNLI said the yacht skipper did the right thing in calling the coastguard early, unsure if his vessel would be able to continue sailing against the tide.
The Penarth lifeboat crew helped ensure a continued safe passage to Cardiff Bay.
