VALE mayor Janice Charles enjoyed a big lunch when she took up an invite to visit Ysgol y Deri, in Penarth.
Councillor Charles was invited to join the school’s catering and hospitality group for its Big Lunch event on Wednesday, June 14.
It was a nationwide event run by The Eden Project, in Cornwall.
The mayor heard about how the group had been learning and practicing new cookery skills throughout the year.
Cllr Charles said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing my lunch. The food was delicious and a credit to everyone from the catering and hospitality group at Ysgol y Deri.”
The mayor has dedicated her mayoral year to community service.
