A ROYAL visitor is the focus of this week’s From the Archives photograph.
Back in the 1980s, a certain prince visited Penarth to unveil what is one of Penarth’s smallest areas of parkland.
Prince Charles can be seen here on Thursday, July 15, 1982 at the opening of the Arcot Street “triangle” with the Prince Charles Court block of flats in the background.
The triangle is at the junction of Arcot Street and Queens Road.
Many local school children were allowed time off school to attend the event
Many thanks to Vilis Kuksa who kindly supplied the photograph.
If you have any interesting photographs of the town from years gone by we would love to see them.
Send them to penarthtimes@penarthtimes.co.uk with some of the background and yours could be featuring in next week’s From the Archive.
