THE Penarth Lawn Tennis Club is pleased to announce that it is holding a small music and street food festival at the club's Rectory Road premises. This will take place on Saturday, September 2 starting at 2pm and finishing at 7pm.

In recent years, Penarth has seen a really nice social scene developing, allowing the community to get together and at the same time enjoy conversation, music and food. Events such as Penarth Picnic, Music In The Park have now become established and very well attended annual events.

Regular nights such as the monthly Friday meet of the Penarth Acoustic Club at the Conservative Club, the open mic at the Windsor on a Sunday and Thursdays at the Albion have proved that there is an appetite for live music in Penarth.

With the grounds of Penarth Lawn Tennis Club providing a great outdoor space for this type of event, and with the club already having a great social programme, it was only natural for the club to organise something to add to the current music and food scene.

It has been decided to start off modestly this year and the club are pleased to announce that on the day we will have a selection of five of the best local music acts along with four popular "street food" vendors, who will supply a range of delicious food including burgers, pizzas and tacos.

Bring your family, your picnic rugs and chairs and enjoy a great family day out. The tennis club will provide a fully stocked bar along with a sweet and ice cream stall. The club will ensure that everything is sold at a reasonable price as you will not be allowed to bring or food or drink into the venue.

Finally, the club needs to extend their thanks to their four corporate sponsors, all of who are an integral part of the Penarth community. Without their help it would not be possible to run an event like this; they are ACJ Lettings, CJCH Solicitors, Curo Advisers and Taylor Made Travel all of who will be there on the day.

The cost of entry will be £3 and will be by ticket only. To get tickets either come for a drink at the clubhouse after 7pm on any Friday night and buy your tickets over the bar or buy online by visiting bit.ly/pltcfestival.

The club looks forward to welcoming you on the day.
