A UNIVERSAL Credit awareness event is being held on Wednesday, September 27, from 9.30am in the Metropole Theatre, Abertillery.
Hosted by Blaenau Gwent housing and housing benefit sections, the two sessions - a morning and afternoon - will offer information about Universal Credit full service, which will replace some benefits and tax credits including housing benefit and income support.
This is being introduced in stages across the UK and is due to go live in Blaenau Gwent in April 2018 and represents a change to the system of “legacy benefits” and tax credits.
