COGAN Coronation AFC are now a month into the new football season, and have had a major boost to their season with support from a number of businesses throughout Cardiff and the Vale.

Smith’s, whose services cover Cardiff, Gloucester and Bristol and have a base in Llandough, are the principal kit sponsor for the first team this season, and were presented with a framed jersey at a recent home match.

LCB Construction, who have clients spanning across south Wales and the south west of England, have generously contributed to help fund the team’s warm up kit and match day clothing.

The club have also received sponsorship from Massey Cladding Solutions, Penarth Stone Masonry, RCD Utility Services, and Leisuretime, while GC Insulation has generously donated to be the club’s match ball sponsor.

In addition to that, local businesses have taken the opportunity to sponsor individual players – again helping the club cover all the necessary costs.

The Vape Chase, AC Humphries and Sons Stonemasons, and The Bottle Shop – with their Penarth branch on Station Approach – have all contributed as player sponsors.

Club secretary Paul Starling said: "The club would like to thank all of the businesses who have sponsored this season, and hope that others can follow suit to help the club grow as we continue to chase success in the South Wales Alliance League.

"All contributions, no matter how big or small, are crucial to amateur clubs like ours as we have to cover the costs of everything from kits to training equipment, and matchday costs for referees and post-match food."

Cogan’s season has begun in much better fashion after a difficult season last time out. They have secured two wins and a draw from their opening six games, which sees them 10th in the league. Last Saturday saw them come from behind to beat Treforest 2-1, and this Saturday they travel to Llantwit Fardre.
