THE next town mayor civic service in Penarth takes place this weekend.
Cllr Ken Lloyd will hold the service on Sunday, September 24 in All Saints Church and invites the people of Penarth to attend.
The service begins at 3.30pm.
The town mayor will be accompanied by his consort Georgia Bennett and the service will be conducted by Canon Peter Cox.
Those who attend are also invited to a reception at the Paget Rooms following the service.
This year, the mayor has chosen as his nominated charities, Cancer Research UK and Royal National Institute for Blind People in Wales.
Town clerk, Emma Boylan said "We are delighted to welcome townspeople and distinguished guests to recognise the town mayor.
"The civic service is a traditional fixture of the civic calendar, during a year of significant new initiatives and developments for Penarth Town Council."
