SINGER Charlotte Church has married in a secret ceremony under a tree surrounded by just a few friends and family.

The former child star now 31 and living in Dinas Powys tied the knot to musician Jonathan Powell, 30.

She began dating Mr Powell in 2010 and finally said "I do" in September - just three months after announcing she had tragically lost a baby they were expecting.

The couple wed at a register office in Cardiff with just a handful of guests before having a ceremony under a tree at their home in a blessing party to celebrate.

Charlotte's mum Maria, 51, was a witness at the official service and signed the register.

Former Crazy Chick Charlotte - worth a reported £9m - hooked up with Jonathan after splitting with rugby star Gavin Henson who is the father of her two children.

But friends say the couple had another bash at their home in Dinas Powys with a local florist providing the flowers and a wine merchant providing cases of booze.

A source close to the couple said: "Charlotte and Jonathan have been in love for a long time and a wedding was always on the cards.

"They wanted to keep things low key and swore all the guests to secrecy as they married under a tree.

"A wine merchant in Abergavenny provided the bubbles and a florist in Cardiff did the flowers.

"Jonathan has been a great influence on Charlotte, she has calmed down a lot since she met him."

She has two children Ruby, 10, and Dexter, eight, with her former partner Henson.

They split up in 2010 and just weeks later Charlotte began dating singer-songwriter Powell after they met in Cardiff.

The couple live at Charlotte's £1.5million home in Dinas Powys in the Vale of Glamorgan.
