THE 'compact' agreement between Plaid Cymru and the ruling Labour Party in the Welsh Assembly has come to an end.
The arrangement, which had seen Plaid co-operate with the government in the absence of a Labour majority in the Senedd, concludes just two days after the parties came to an agreement to back Labour budget proposals for the next two years.
Commenting on the agreement's cessation, South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies described the move as evidence of "yet more chaos from Plaid Cymru."
He said: "By continuing to support Welsh Labour’s budget in the absence of an agreement shows Plaid’s support has never been cheaper.
"On Tuesday they were gleefully propping up Labour, and yet today they expect the public to believe they are an aggressive opposition.
"People across Wales will see straight through this duplicity.
"Welsh Conservatives will continue to provide real opposition to the tired and failing Labour Government."
