THE following cases have been heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Cardiff.

Craig Williams, aged 37, of Phyllis Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to being drunk in a public place whilst supervising a child under the age of seven. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Dean Lawlor, aged 29, of Holton Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay compensation of £470, £85 in court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Michael Morris, aged 45, of Pontalun Close, Barry, pleaded guilty to theft for stealing a steam mop and other cleaning products whilst trespassing. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Shannen Townsend-Ryan, aged 21, of Hannover Court, Barry, pleaded guilty to three counts of assault by beating. She was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months and was fined £120. She was also ordered to pay £330 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £165.

Lewis Webster, aged 24, of Regent Street, Barry, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage and to breaching the terms of his bail restrictions. He was given a community order and ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £85 in court costs.

Gavin Baynham, aged 36, of Woodlands Road, Barry, was found guilty of assault by beating and committing a further offence whilst serving a community order. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for two years and was given a rehabilitation requirement and restraining order. He was also ordered to pay £620 in court costs, a victim surcharge of £115 and compensation of £100.

Lee Woolacott, aged 46, of Gladstone Road, Barry, was found guilty of assault by beating. He was fined £1,720 and was ordered to pay £600 compensation, £620 in court costs and a £170 victim surcharge.

Richard Davies, aged 47, of Tordoff Way, Barry, was found guilty of assault by beating. He was fined £350 and was ordered to pay £620 in court costs and a £35 victim surcharge.

Adam Beer, of Arno Road, Barry, was found guilty of assault by beating and impersonating a police officer. He was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
