WALES’ biggest union are set to stage a rally in Barry this weekend, in protest against public sector pay caps and the UK government’s austerity measures.
Unison Cymru Wales hope that around 500 people will attend the event, which also seeks to put pressure on Vale MP and Welsh secretary Alun Cairns, ahead of the Autumn Budget announcement later this month.
The event will include musical performances as well as talks from Vale AM Jane Hutt, senior trade union figures and Wales and Everton football legend Neville Southall.
The rally is set to begin at 12 noon in King’s Square, Barry, before marching down Holton Road to the Civic Building at 1.30pm.
