AMS will pay tribute to former Welsh Government minister Carl Sargeant, who died last week, tomorrow, Tuesday.

Assembly business was suspended last week after the Alyn and Deeside AM was found dead at his north Wales home on Tuesday, November 7.

And tomorrow afternoon formal business will resume with tributes to the former minister, who was 49.

The tributes will be followed by a 30 minute break, followed by the usual business of First Minister's Questions and other items postponed from last week.

Mr Sargeant's death came just days after he was fired from Carwyn Jones' cabinet and suspended from the Labour Party after allegations arose about his conduct with women.

Although he had vowed to clear his name, he reportedly died unaware of the details of the allegations.

Last week Carwyn Jones, who has refused to bow to pressure to resign, announced an inquiry would be held into the circumstances leading up to Mr Sargeant's his death, but not before an inquest was held.

But his family have said any inquiry should be held independently of Labour or the Welsh Government and have argued it will not interfere with the inquest, which will be opened today, Monday.

In a statement the family said: "An independent inquiry will ask all the questions that need to be asked and have not been answered and will determine the reasons for the serious failings in following the correct procedures, practices and protocols, and the reasons for the complete abdication of responsibility and duty of care that was owed to Carl."

The tributes in the Senedd, along with other Assembly business, will be streamed live at senedd.tv
