ACCLAIMED professional photographer Nick Treharne is joining forces with new Penarth brand 'bioniciconic', who are set to make his photo-prints available through their website for the first time.

For more than twenty years, Penarth based photographer Mr Treharne has been capturing images of people and locations across South Wales, developing an extensive back catalogue of work that has achieved critical praise from his industry peers.

With the premise of his work, in his own words, to always be mindful to “make it interesting, not ordinary," his new partnership with a company that claims to offer "interesting things to interesting people" seems an apt one.

One of Mr Treharne's images is currently on display in the National Museum Wales in Cardiff, as part of the legendary photographer David Hurn’s Swaps exhibition.

At present, a range of four monochrome 'urban' themed images taken in locations across South Wales have been made available to purchase through the company website, along with a three colourful vintage petrol pump images.

On the new partnership, Mr Treharne said: “For me being free to create images that have a depth and interest is part of the passion that drives my photography. Whenever I head out to take photographs it’s always with a mix of excitement and uncertainty as I don’t know what will be in my camera at the end of the day.

"Working with bioniciconic is a brilliant experience as it’s given me the opportunity to review my existing work, and is also inspiring me to create new images to share.”

Since its launch in April 2017, bioniciconic has already attracted customers from Scandinavia, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, the USA and from across the UK.

With the company's new partnership with Mr Treharne their first foray into the world of photography, founder John Jackson said part of the challenge was about selecting which images to make available.

“Nick is the first photographer we’ve had the pleasure to work with," said Mr Jackson.

"The biggest challenge was choosing the initial range of images to offer for sale, as Nick has a comprehensive back catalogue.”
