CHILDREN and parents at Rhythmic @ the Academy have been doing their part to give local, underprivileged children a special Christmas this year.
Gymnasts at the academy have got involved with The Big Wrap – a charity led, Vale of Glamorgan Council backed scheme which donates Christmas gifts to children across the county.
Run by volunteers, The Big Wrap relies entirely on donations from local organisations and members of the public.
The Big Wrap is happy to receive toys (which should be new and unwrapped) and gift tokens or financial donations. This year’s wish list includes board games, doll sets, train sets and toiletry sets for teenage boys.
Scheme co-ordinator, Susan Lloyd-Selby, said: "We are so grateful to members of the public for their generous support. Every present we receive will be given to a child or young person who might otherwise receive nothing or very little for Christmas.”
Gifts can be donated at Barry Civic Offices until Friday, December 15.
