THIS week From the Archives features a new look for a long standing club in the town centre.
In January 1968, Penarth Conservative Club unveiled its new look.
The revamped club was now air conditioned and had a new hall combined with a covered skittle alley.
The seating capacity of the refurbished club stood at 350.
The lounge bar was also decorated and refurnished and Mitchell and Butlers installed pressurised containers to ensure the beer was fresh and cool.
The photograph from the Penarth Times archive shows the refurbished lounge bar in all its glory.
The electrical work was carried out by Vining Electrical and the main contractors were Miles Bros Ltd from Cardiff.
