THE growing number of independent, local businesses in Penarth has received another boost, with the opening of a new beauty salon which celebrated a successful launch day in December.

Beauty Box, on Victoria Road, opened their doors to customers for the first time on December 1, offering a variety of beauty services including manicures, pedicures, waxing, facials, massages and customised make-up.

Under the tagline, 'All things beautiful', the salon features two treatment rooms, along with three nail bails and a pedicure area.

Owner Chanya Slorach has accumulated more than nine years of international experience in the beauty industry, but she is proud to call Beauty Box a local business, having worked in Penarth for some time already.

Ms Slorach said: "We are very pleased to be a Penarth owned independent business, joining our fellow traders in one of the top performing towns in Wales."

The new salon has already helped to create five local jobs, with more beauty therapists set to be recruited this Spring.
