THIS week’s From the Archive features a photograph from the old Cornerswell Farm.
This interesting photograph was taken in the snowfall of 1962.
It shows the “Black Barn” of Cornerswell Farm.
The farm, located between Wordsworth Avenue, Hastings Avenue and Cornerswell Place dates back to 1655 and was demolished in 1968.
It was approximately 200 acres in size and was mixed dairy and arable.
The Rees family were tennant farmers who ran the farm for more than 50 years.
Many thanks to Brian Vaughan for providing the photo.
We are always keen to see your pictures of Penarth from years gone by.
