The following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrate's Court sitting at Cardiff:

Patrick Gaskill, aged 47, of Station Road, Dinas Powys, pleaded guilty to possessing a bladed article or knife in public. A community order was made requiring 80 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Marc Anthony Bloom, aged 30, of Masefield Road, Penarth, pleaded guilty to two counts of damaging a motor vehicle, two counts of sending grossly offensive electronic communications and one count of failing to surrender to custody. A community order was made requiring 120 hours unpaid work within the next 12 months. A restraining order was also made. He was ordered to pay £175 compensation, £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Simon Meredith Evans, aged 56, of Myrtle Close, Penarth, pleaded guilty to driving after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion in his breath exceeded the limit. He was fined £200 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.
