SULLY'S Indoor Bowls Club has been awarded the Insport Ribbon award, for increasing the opportunity for disabled people to take part in sport.

The club is the first across the Vale of Glamorgan, to have achieved the Insport Ribbon award, which is an initiative created by Disability Sport Wales, which aims to demonstrate how inclusive community sports clubs are.

With more than 1,000 members, the club aims to set up more quality disability specific and inclusive bowls opportunities for people in the local area.

Simon Jones, Disability Sport Wales development officer, said: β€œIt’s great to see such a big club focusing on how they can include everyone in the activities they provide.

"Sully Indoor Bowls have been very proactive in making sure disabled people are catered for and can enjoy bowls along with everyone else.”

The club is open from 10am to 9pm every day, and is happy to welcome new members.

The eight rink international indoor arena is located in South Road, Sully, and was first opened in October 1997.

The club regularly hosts international championships and also has a lounge, restaurant and licensed bar to serve those involved with indoor bowls.
