A PROJECT coordinated by a Penarth woman has seen Weight Watchers members across Wales have collected £1,153 for Marie Curie.
Members from as many as 28 different Weight Watchers meetings contributed to the collection by purchasing daffodils for the charity, which provides care and support to people living with any terminal illness.
The project was coordinated by Lesley Mullan, from Penarth, who also drove a similar collection last year.
This year’s total is more than double what was raised by the weight loss group last year when a donation in the region of £400 was collected.
Marie Curie said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Weight Watchers’ Lesley Mullan, who supported our Great Daffodil Appeal again this year.
“By distributing daffodil boxes to groups across Wales, Lesley helped to raise an incredible £1,153 for Marie Curie.
“Thank you so much to Lesley and everyone at Weight Watchers who helped raise this amazing total.”
